Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) often presents as intrusive, unwanted thoughts that feel distressing, confusing, or difficult to dismiss. In response, individuals may engage in compulsive behaviors, either visible or internal, in an attempt to reduce distress or gain certainty. While these behaviors may provide temporary relief, they reinforce the cycle over time, making the thoughts feel more persistent and more significant than they are.
